Title: Procedure / Technical Writer II

Pay: $40.00-$44.63/hour

Hours: Monday-Friday; 8:00 AM-5:00 PM

Location: Remote (Must reside in Southern California and be able to pick up equipment locally)

Overview

Seeking an experienced Technical Writer to develop, maintain, and update operational procedures, process maps, SOPs, job aids, manuals, and training materials. This role works closely with SMEs and stakeholders to translate complex technical information into clear, field-ready documentation.

Job Description

• Create and maintain process maps, SOPs, procedures, manuals, job aids, and training materials
• Facilitate meetings with SMEs and stakeholders to gather technical information
• Research, analyze, and validate documentation for accuracy and compliance
• Update documentation to support process improvements, safety initiatives, and operational changes
• Conduct occasional site visits to understand field operations and work practices
• Collaborate with project teams to meet documentation timelines and standards

Required Skills

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• 3-5+ years of technical writing experience
• Experience creating SOPs, procedures, and process documentation
• Strong writing, editing, and organizational skills
• Experience working with SMEs and cross-functional teams
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Visio, SharePoint, Teams, Adobe Acrobat, and related documentation tools

Preferred Skills

• Utility, energy, construction, manufacturing, or industrial experience
• Process mapping and workflow documentation experience
• Experience supporting field operations
