Admin Assistant, Adult Education (Harrison County Campus)

The AE Administrative Assistant provides administrative support for the Adult Education division. This position reports to the Director of Adult Education.

Job duties include adhering to all MGCCC policies and procedures, following the directions of the Accountability and Assessment Coordinator or AE director, serving as the first line of contact for prospective students, managing and organizing calls, web pre-applications, and walk-ins, preparing Intake and Orientation for the Adult Education program, monitoring and observing student behaviors, assisting in providing individual support for students with registering for the Adult Education program, organizing, using, and maintaining supplies, materials, and equipment, assisting in providing non-instructional support for students, understanding community resources and discussing possible referrals, assisting with intake, orientation and assessment of students, assisting Academic Assistants in preparing, recording, and monitoring student folders, assisting instructor in administering, scoring, and evaluating diagnostic tests, assisting in preparing student folders and maintaining records of student progress, assisting in collecting data for reports for the AE division, understanding and using the state approved data system, maintaining a professional attitude toward students and college personnel, and performing all other duties as assigned.

Mandatory qualifications include a minimum of an Associate's degree from an institution of higher education or "Silver or Above" score for National Career Readiness Certification (NCRC), excellent written and interpersonal communication, and customer service skills, ability to effectively multitask in fast-paced environments by prioritizing responsibilities, maintaining accuracy, and adapting to changing priorities while delivering high quality work, and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Desirable qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Business, education, or computer related field, community college experience and/or SCTBanner experience, and experience teaching High School Equivalency/Basic Skills.
