About the Role

Canvass America is hiring Part-Time Grassroots Associates (GA) on the Mississippi Gulf Coast to support the grassroots outreach efforts of Americans for Prosperity – Mississippi (AFP-MS). As a Grassroots Associate, you will be employed by Canvass America and work under the day-to-day management and direction of Americans for Prosperity – Mississippi, a member of The Stand Together Community.

AFP-MS focuses on grassroots engagement and public policy outreach centered on expanding opportunity, removing barriers to success, and helping everyday people have a stronger voice in policy conversations. In this role, you'll engage directly with residents through door-to-door conversations, conduct surveys, and discuss important issues affecting communities across Mississippi. Training is provided, so no prior canvassing experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct door-to-door canvassing in assigned communities.
• Engage residents in meaningful issue-based conversations and surveys.
• Represent AFP-MS professionally while building positive relationships within the community.
• Meet productivity expectations of approximately 15 doors knocked per hour with quality conversations and efficient work.
• Participate in required training and team meetings.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must have a smartphone.
• Must have reliable transportation (vehicle required).
• Comfortable interacting with the public.
• Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work independently.
• No previous canvassing experience is necessary—comprehensive training is provided.

Compensation & Schedule

• $20 per hour
• Minimum 20 hours per week required.
• Opportunity to work up to 40 hours per week, if desired.
• Flexible, self-set schedule.
• Availability to work at least one Saturday per month is required.
• Additional performance-based bonuses and incentives may be available.
