Accounting Clerk

Job Summary

Perform specialized and day to day accounting activities to ensure accuracy and efficiency of the department.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with maintaining subsidiary records, including payables and receivables
  • Process member payrolls and resolve issues and exceptions
  • Research and resolve member and staff issues in a timely manner
  • Assist with processing IRS backup withholding notices and payment processing
  • Process accounts payable and resolve any vendor issues
  • Assist in reconciling fixed asset and prepaid accounts
  • Process staff and officials employee expense reports
  • Scan and file accounting records
  • Assist in processing investment accrual transactions
  • Assist in improving departmental operating processes and procedures
  • Manage supplies for the Credit Union, including ordering and inventory
  • Update and maintain written policies and procedures within Accounting Department
  • Cross train within department to perform backup to other positions
  • Utilize Microsoft Office products to complete daily tasks

Minimum Required Experience

  • Prior banking/credit union experience preferred
  • Pursuit of Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or similarly related field of study
